Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how alayer.ai (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on alayer.ai. It covers what we use, why, and how you can control them.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember information about your visit, making your next visit easier and the site more useful to you. Cookies may be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (remaining until they expire or you delete them).
2. Cookies We Use
We use three categories of cookies: Essential (always active), Analytics and Marketing. How we ask for your choice depends on where you are, which we estimate from your Internet Protocol (IP) address:
- European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom and Canada: our site is set up so that analytics and marketing cookies stay off until you accept them in our cookie banner. Because we estimate your location from your IP address, if that estimate places you outside these regions (for example, when you use a virtual private network), the rules for the United States and other regions apply instead, and you can still turn cookies off at any time or send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. In rare cases, for example when Google's estimate of your location differs from ours, Google Analytics may set its cookies for a few seconds before our site removes them.
- United States and other regions: we do not ask before analytics runs or marketing cookies are set. You can turn them off at any time through "Manage Cookie Preferences" at the bottom of every page. This turns off analytics and marketing cookies and deletes the ones our site has already set. After that, Google Analytics sends only limited information without cookies (see Google Consent Mode below).
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): if your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a choice to turn off analytics and marketing cookies, wherever you are, unless you later accept them in our cookie banner.
Your choices are stored in cookies set by our consent tool, Complianz (see Essential Cookies).
3. Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as setting privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
alayer_cookie_consent | Set by an earlier version of the preferences form on this page. We no longer set or read it, and it does not affect which cookies we use. | Up to 1 year from when it was set |
cmplz_banner-status, cmplz_saved_categories, cmplz_saved_services, cmplz_consented_services, cmplz_id, cmplz_policy_id, cmplz_functional, cmplz_preferences, cmplz_statistics, cmplz_marketing | Remember your cookie choices and whether you have seen our cookie banner. | 1 year |
wp_consent_functional, wp_consent_preferences, wp_consent_statistics, wp_consent_statistics-anonymous, wp_consent_marketing | Pass your cookie choices to the plugins on our site so they respect them. | 30 days (until you close your browser when set from a GPC signal) |
alayer_ft_access | Keeps the free checklist open in this browser after you send the form, so you don't have to fill it in again. Signed and not readable by scripts. | 180 days |
wordpress_* | WordPress authentication (logged-in users only) | Session, or 14 days if you choose 'Remember me' |
wp-settings-* | WordPress user interface preferences (logged-in users only) | 1 year |
4. Analytics Cookies
These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. Our reports use aggregated data. In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Canada, these cookies are set only after you accept analytics cookies. Elsewhere you can turn them off at any time, and a GPC signal turns them off.
| Cookie Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_SGH6V3HEJ7 | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors and sessions to measure how our site is used. | Up to 2 years (browsers such as Chrome limit this to 400 days) |
tk_ai | WooCommerce Analytics (Automattic) | A random identifier used to count store visits and how the store is used. | 1 year |
tk_or, tk_lr, tk_r3d | Jetpack / WooCommerce Analytics (Automattic) | Record the original and last referrer and recent visits for store statistics. | tk_or: up to 2 years (400 days in Chrome). tk_lr: 1 year. tk_r3d: 3 days |
5. Marketing Cookies
Marketing cookies help deliver or measure advertising. The only Marketing cookies we set are the WooCommerce order attribution cookies (sbjs_*) listed below. In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Canada they are not set until you accept marketing cookies; elsewhere they are set when the page loads and are deleted if you turn marketing cookies off. They are not set if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. We do not use them for advertising.
| Cookie Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sbjs_migrations, sbjs_current_add, sbjs_first_add, sbjs_current, sbjs_first, sbjs_udata | WooCommerce order attribution | Remember how you arrived at our site (referring site, campaign tags, landing page, number of visits, browser type). Reaches us only if you place an order. We do not use them for advertising. | Session |
sbjs_session | WooCommerce order attribution | As above: tracks the current visit. | 30 minutes |
6. Other Technologies
Google reCAPTCHA (spam protection) and Google Fonts load on every page. Google receives your IP address and basic browser details when they load. reCAPTCHA also uses information about your device and how you interact with the page to tell people from bots. See Google's Privacy Policy.
7. Managing Cookies via Your Browser
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:
- View and delete cookies already stored
- Block cookies from specific or all websites
- Set your browser to alert you when cookies are being set
Browser-specific instructions: Chrome · Firefox · Safari · Edge
Note: Blocking essential cookies will affect website functionality.
8. Update Your Cookie Preferences
You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time in our cookie banner. Select "Manage Cookie Preferences" below, or use the link at the bottom of every page. Your choice there controls the analytics and marketing cookies described above.
9. Questions?
If you have questions about our use of cookies or this policy, please contact us at privacy@alayer.ai or visit our Privacy Policy.
